Title: VTTW Storm Watch
Post by: TheRealOrange on October 29, 2012, 02:13:14 EDT

The Atlantic City boardwalk is already taking a pounding and portions collapsing before the storm even gets close (source: The Weather Channel).

Nucky Thompson will not be happy about this.

Lucky we moved to Florida last year, in time to miss the hurricanes! :naughty:

The eye of the storm is supposed to pass within ~30 miles of my house, although we're considerably inland.  They say we might get gusts up to 70mph.  Looks like this will be worse than Isabel a few years back.  I'm not looking forward to the surely coming power outage!

I spent the weekend in Atlantic Beach, NC, enjoying the 50-60mph gusts that were making our condo sound like someone hitting a metal shack with baseball bats. But it was fun taking the kids down to the beach to watch the 20+ foot waves roll in. The only damagae I saw was early Sunday morning in the form of pretty sparks flying everywhere when a couple of transformers were blowing in the neighborhood.
