Title: per Hubbs, decision has been made
Post by: VinnieVOL on November 11, 2012, 02:46:53 EST
There will be no announcement this week.  If we beat Vandy, Dooley will be fired after the UK game.  If we lose to Vandy, Dooley will be fired that following week since a bowl game would be out at that point.

If true, the right way to do it, IMO.

Really don't see the point in waiting.  Even if they win both and become bowl-eligible, canning him after UK is going to disrupt the bowl preparations.  Might as well rip off the band-aid now.

IMO, that would ensure we lose to vandy, and I don't want that.  fizzle them and that bald-headed d__ with ears that coaches them  :bird:

That's nice to know. I hope Tennessee DOESN'T hire Kirby Smart! Tennessee doesn't need a no Head Coaching experience Assistant

we're screwed either way.  CDD's incompetence will ensure we lose to candy and if we fire his incompetent ass it ensures we lose to candy

The players aren't stupid.  They know it's coming at some point.  If they lose to Vandy it was going to happen anyway, whether Dooley is fired or not.  Hell, IMO it might actually improve their state of mind.

LOL.  You may be right.  Still want to beat vandy.  Still think we can.

They aren't that much better than Missouri IMO.   I will be watching either way.   Might even be tempted to go, I enjoyed my last trip there.  But likely will stay home and watch.

I agree, I'm fine with it.  Season is shot anyway, who cares.

Agreed, I don't know what replacements they may have lined up or not, so I sure don't have enough info to know the best way, or time to fire dooley. I just want it over with so we can move on to the real solution for this dreadful, noncompetitive UT football.

Kinda stupid. Players know what is happening. The timing of it doesn't matter at this point

With 0-for Dooley at the helm, I don't think we have much to worry about bowl games (which only serves to humiliate ourselves in front of the whole world).
