Title: Stanford coach? Post by: BanditVol on November 18, 2012, 04:13:17 EST He knows how to shut down Oregon, at least.
Title: Re: Stanford coach? Post by: RipleyVol12 on November 18, 2012, 04:26:29 EST Considering we play Oregon next year that'd be nice lol.
GO VOLS! :powert: Title: Re: Stanford coach? Post by: WoodstockVol on November 18, 2012, 04:32:12 EST Nope Jim Harbaugh built that program
Title: Re: Stanford coach? Post by: murfvol on November 18, 2012, 04:37:27 EST He'd be a great hire, but there's no way he's coming.
Title: Re: Stanford coach? Post by: Black Diamond Vol on November 18, 2012, 04:38:45 EST Shaw would be a great choice. The only problem is, Stanford has the largest endowment in America by far, and they could outbid anyone- if they choose to, that is. I'm guessing that football isn't quite as high on their list of priorities as it is in the SEC.
Gruden is clearly option 1 and 1A right now. But if he falls through, I would definitely make a run at Shaw. Title: Re: Stanford coach? Post by: Black Diamond Vol on November 18, 2012, 04:47:06 EST Having lived out there, I really, really, REALLY hate Stanford. Bunch of pretentious a-holes. The type of people that Vandy grads aspire to be. :hurl:
But I very much admire what Harbaugh and now Shaw have done with their program. They're basically playing SEC-style football in the Pac 12, and making it work. Everyone thought they were a flash in the pan, and would just go away when Luck left, but that hasn't been the case. As long as Shaw is there, I think they are going to have staying power.
