Title: Nelson Briles might make a good coach Post by: BanditVol on December 06, 2012, 07:14:40 EST He turned around both Houston and Baylor. And Baylor was in the Big 12 the entire time he coached them.
Further, although they are 7-5 this year, they didn't get blown out by anyone, except maybe TCU. I think he's a good candidate. Also makes "only" $2.5 M a year. Oh wait...his name is ART Briles. How stupid of me. :naughty: Title: Re: Nelson Briles might make a good coach Post by: SmokeyJoe on December 06, 2012, 07:19:36 EST Too old.
Title: Re: Nelson Briles might make a good coach Post by: 101stDad on December 06, 2012, 07:37:03 EST Well, he does have 2 world series rings and a lifetime ERA of just under 3 and a half, but it will be kind of hard for him to take the job given that he died a few years back. :frown:
Title: Re: Nelson Briles might make a good coach Post by: BanditVol on December 06, 2012, 07:56:12 EST Okay, ignoring my lame attempt at humor, what do you really think of Art Briles? I don't see much daylight between him and Fedora, frankly, and he has got er done in a tougher conference.
The only big negative I see is that his background is offense, and we need immediate help on the other side of the line. |
