I like it, but I don't think it's a GA spot. It'll probably be quality control or some such other title. Last year the NCAA expanded the GA slots from 2 to 4 but we already have 3 of the 4 filled and both "defensive" ones are occupied. I also think there's an NCAA rule about how far removed a person can be from receiving his undergraduate degree and still come in as a GA.

The major difference is a GA can be somewhat involved in recruiting, while a quality control coach or other similar support staff position cannot. Regardless of what Fair will be doing I like bringing him in. If you have 6-8 support staff/GA positions I like the idea of several of them being alumni. It shows the current players and recruits that the program has an ongoing commitment to enhancing the opportunities of its players . . . and of course the fans like it.
