Title: I finally watched the Dark Knight Rises..and (spoilers)
Post by: Volznut on January 28, 2013, 05:34:30 EST
I was very disappointed. As good as the first two in the trilogy were, this was a major letdown for me. First of all the Villain, Bane, sounded like a bad Sean Connery imitation, and you could hardly understand what he was saying. The movie drags for a while, I was actually bored for a little bit. Batman's like a shadow of his former self and gets kicked around a lot. Hathaway as cat woman...she looked hot, but didn't provide much IMO. Then you have the plot, which was nonsense, a terrorist plot to take over a city and no involvement from the rest of the country? The ending was decent, and somewhat ambiguous, obviously a new series is coming with Robin and Catwoman, and I am not even sure if Batman dies or not, they don't show it. Overall, I thought a very poor conclusion.

I thought it was pretty good.  Certainly not on par with the last movie (few are), but as good as the first.

I share your view.  It wasn't as good as the 2nd, but I enjoyed it as much as the first.

Nut... it was pretty apparent to me at the end that Batman doesn't die.  After the explosion, Alfred sees Bruce sitting at a cafe with Selina .. I remember it well because my wife was (as quiet as she could) freaking out because she thought Batman actually did die in the chopper.  Then the following scene at the cafe was this huge sigh of relief.

Yeah I don't think he died, but I wonder if that ending scene with Alfred was just Alfred seeing things because he was so dismayed at losing him, or just something that finished out Batman's career
