Since 12 of the 14 teams make the tourney now, I think it is doable. I've seen them a couple of times so far this year, and there is some talent there, although it is very young talent and especially in the pitching staff. Serrano is being careful and helping them to take baby steps and give them a chance to acclimate themselves to SEC caliber baseball. Some 17 true or redshirt freshmen are seeing considerable innings and at bats. This weekend is big. Alabama is a middle of the road SEC team. If UT play well, even if they don't win the series, it will certainly help with the confidence. I like what I see so far. Still a long way to go, but progress is being made. |
