Title: Inside the Vols' current Rivals recruiting ratings Post by: Clockwork Orange on July 17, 2013, 10:33:43 EDT I've seen people get excited about the #1 ranking and then have that *ugh* moment when they see that our average # stars is not top 10, and wondering about the quantity vs. quality argument. Well . . . recall that Rivals has a rating system that's more granular than the star system. 6.1 is a 5*, 5.8-6.0 is 4*, 5.5-5.7 is 3*, etc.
Using that, here's where the Vols stack up: Avg of all Rivals ratings: 5.74; 8th overall; 4th SEC. We trail Notre Dame (5.78), Texas A&M, Michigan, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Ohio State. Avg of top 10 commits: 5.86; 5th overall; 3rd SEC. We trail Alabama (5.89), Notre Dame, Clemson, Texas A&M. Not bad. |
