He is making the announcement official tonight. We have 31 commits now (assuming Thomas does commit for real tonight) and may be on the verge of 32. We also have potential commitments from Josh Malone, David Sharpe, and Jarran Reed, and are hoping to get DJ Law and Adoree Jackson as well. 31+1+5+Butch=30. I fail to see the problem. Keep the roster limit at 85, but do away 25/year limitation. Teams can now sign as many per year as they want, but no more than 95 in a rolling 4 year period. No back counting, no grayshirts. So if you sign 30 this year, you only get 65 over the next 3 years. This allows for a normal attrition of 10 guys over a four year period, but discourages the "roster management" currently practiced by some coaches. Seems a lot less complicated to me. :dunno: |
