Maybe. He tweeted a commitment and there is a story out there, but he took the tweet down very quickly. I'm not sure what that means exactly.

Yep, that is the story to which I referred. Still no explanation for why the tweet came down. I'm not assuming anything, just curious why he seemed to publicly commit then very quickly pull that tweet back.

Fort on VQ says that Al.com screwed up and ran the story early. He is making the announcement official tonight.

Also, we could get another commitment today

Mosley. Much more significant commit, IMO. Hope it happens.

Please explain our numbers. I thought 30 was our number.

30 is the number. We have 31 commits now (assuming Thomas does commit for real tonight) and may be on the verge of 32. We also have potential commitments from Josh Malone, David Sharpe, and Jarran Reed, and are hoping to get DJ Law and Adoree Jackson as well.

31+1+5+Butch=30.

I fail to see the problem.

I have no idea how the numbers will work out, but isn't this way more fun than shopping in the bargain bin in the weeks leading up to signing day?

I think it's time to reform scholarship limits.  Here's my idea:

Keep the roster limit at 85, but do away 25/year limitation.  Teams can now sign as many per year as they want, but no more than 95 in a rolling 4 year period.  No back counting, no grayshirts.  So if you sign 30 this year, you only get 65 over the next 3 years.  This allows for a normal attrition of 10 guys over a four year period, but discourages the "roster management" currently practiced by some coaches.

Seems a lot less complicated to me. :dunno:
