Title: Rough start to the season for the SEC top dogs. I'm not sure the Vols will be
Post by: volsboy on November 13, 2013, 05:42:30 EST
a top dog. Why can't the Vols score? Not the way to be successful in todays game. Never since Martin took over have they had a productive offense. If they don't improve they will just have a decent season, not a really good one. Looks like the SEC could struggle again this year. On a positive note, they were playing some real good teams. They will all get better as the season wears on.

KY was playing a real good team.

IMO UT was playing a average team that we should have beat 10 plus. Mich State or KY would have beaten them by 20.

I thought UK was overrated, so their close game against Michigan State was actually impressive to me. I hate to say it, but I think UK is going to be better than I expected them to be. To have that many true freshmen on the floor and lose by only a handful against the nation's No. 2 team...not too shabby.

I dunno.  Xavier is 174-26 in their last 200 games at home.  Quite an advantage.

Yes we still could have and should have beaten them, and the team did not play well, but Xavier is a good team.  ESPN power rating of 27 with us at 20...that Christon is a great player too.

IMO that Xavier team last night was not the same Xavier team I've seen over the last many years. They played as bad as us for the most part.

We better step up our game and coaching or we'll be 1 and done in the NIT again. Stokes hasn't improved much at all since he's been in Knoxville. Maymon looked lost as a July Easter egg. It was like he didn't know what to do or where to be in the offense.

Not impressed at all. It's early but CCM teams haven't showed me much.

Am unimpressed with Martin period dot!  His teams do not look well coached at all, and really seem to have trouble in the half court set scoring, and how can't we crash the boards with 2 big beast men in the game.....looks like they got beat up inside by Xavier, and I know that our 2 are much better than what they have.

They did look rough, but it was the opener for both squads.  I'm still pretty impressed with their home court advantage.  Of course everyone plays a lot of creampuffs at home, but that's still around an .850 win percentage at home.

Actually after the game they said they were 2-0. Must have already played a game?
