I guess you realistically couldn't fire Martin after the game if UT loses, but regardless of the outcome this should pretty much cement a "Sweet 16" or bust scenario for his future.

Nah..."make the tourney" or bust I can definitely agree with. Sweet 16 is hard to do for even a good team and coach. It took Bruce a couple tries to get there. I would expect to also win at least one tourney game though, and if we are a "one and done" it depends who we play and how we play them. A "one and done" probably just prolongs the uncertainty with Martin till next year...a solid first win is without doubt an improvement over the last two years. Sweet 16 would be phenomenal, but at this point I can't see Martin doing it. Hope I am wrong though. |
