Title: What if........... Post by: droner on January 03, 2014, 12:56:39 EST What if O'Leary had not fudged on his resume' and had become Notre Dame's head coach?
What if Spurrier had stayed at Florida? What if South Carolina had beaten UT? What if Kiffin had not told Tajh Boyd that he didn't "fit his system"? I ponder these things. What if Al Davis hadn't fired Lane Kiffin? Title: Re: What if........... Don't forget to ponder that Kiffin also ran off Bryce Petty, the starting QB of Baylor. Title: Re: What if........... Post by: BanditVol on January 03, 2014, 04:31:13 EST Don't forget to ponder that Kiffin also ran off Bryce Petty, the starting QB of Baylor. Yeah they mentioned that today in the broadcast. He was a solid commit to Fulmer, apparently. Honestly I didn't even know who Bryce Petty was until midway through this season, but .... wow, just wow. Unbelievable what a dumass Kiffin was/is. It's really truly hard to believe. Fulmer had a lousy recruiting class in 2008, probably the worst of his career, but 2009 was shaping up to be something special. Regardless of how anyone feels about Fulmer getting fired, I am pretty sure that his 2009 recruiting class would have beaten Kiffin's much-hyped (and IMO tremendously overhyped) 2009 class. Just because he got Bryce Brown after signing day doesn't mean he's that great a recruiter. Ah but enough...Jones' 2014 class will be the best since at least 2007 if it holds together. Title: Re: What if........... Title: Re: What if........... Post by: volsboy on January 03, 2014, 08:39:00 EST For some reason I remember the loss to UCLA under Kiffin. Three straight running plays the we got stuffed on inside the 5 yard line. That made me start regretting Kiffin.

Three straight running plays the we got stuffed on inside the 5 yard line. That made me start regretting Kiffin. Well I never wanted him to begin with, but that just confirmed some of my fears. That was awful. The thing is, we didn't get stuffed on every play. On the plays Hardesty ran, we gained yards. But for some incredibly idiotic reason, Kiffin was alternating Brown and Hardesty and BROWN got stuff twice. Run Hardesty every play and we score easily..... :frown: Bryce Brown...two carries for zero yards...Hardesty two carries 6 yards. Not only that, but it's not like they were both in at the same time. He kept alternating them FROM THE SIDELINE which meant that between plays they had to run about 40 yards to get to the LOS. My God that man was a dumass. 1st and Goal at UCLA 7 Bryce Brown rush for a loss of 1 yard to the UCLA 8. 2nd and Goal at UCLA 8 Montario Hardesty rush for 5 yards to the UCLA 3. 3rd and Goal at UCLA 3 Bryce Brown rush for 1 yard to the UCLA 2. 4th and Goal at UCLA 2 Montario Hardesty rush for 1 yard to the UCLA 1. http://espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=292552633&period=4 |
