Post by: droner on January 08, 2014, 02:47:49 EST
It wasn't always pretty, but it's a win.

Pretty dominating performance....but we need to work on ball handling vs the press

Absolutely. The team is showing what it's capable of when it can knock down shots. We're more disruptive on defense when we're scoring, too. It never ceases to amaze me how many balls end up in Stokes's hands as if by magic. The guy gets possessions that would be jump balls for mere mortals, and the ball seems to find him off the offensive glass. He still has a lot more growing to do (a jumper, for starters) if he's to be an NBA player but there's something special about his glass work.

Yes, but at least late in the game I think the big lead led to us being a little careless with the ball. Still I think other teams will try to use it against us if we don't make them pay for it.

Yep.  I was impressed.

Now, let's see if they can follow it up with continued good play.

I don't think Stokes will ever be an above the rim type of player, and I don't see a long NBA future for him. I wonder if he can play football though like some other basketball players have. At 6'7, 265, with his body, he could be a hell of a TE. I understand he also has excellent speed.

He would be a beast at TE!

I don't see Stokes playing in the NBA for that reason. there are not many players that can make a living doing nothing but inside work, Shaq did,  the mid-range shot is a must.
