I bet they had to seriously overpay. This is a guy with relatively little experience as a coordinator, none as a head coach, very little time east of the Mississippi, and no connections in the SEC recruiting area-- and he's going to be making SEC head coach money. It could turn out well for Vandy, but there's a lot to overcome there. They're going to have to take a chance, not a lot of well established and experienced coaches are going to coach at Vandy.
