Title: Florida made two charges in the second half Post by: BanditVol on March 15, 2014, 09:28:06 EDT As I said below, this Florida team has the ability to seemingly flip a switch and get after it. IMO, they did that twice in the second half. Once at the beginning, and again at about the 11 minute mark.
I would not say we were unprepared at the start of the half so much as Florida was prepared. Plus, we had a couple shots just barely miss (one was a two footer by Stokes...DOT!). But regardless, we answered that charge and regained the lead. As for their second charge, we went about 7 minutes without scoring but also held them scoreless for ~ 4 minutes. So that we were down by 2 with about 8 minutes left and still down 2 with about 4 minutes left. We then tied it up, at which point the Maymon disaster occurred. Would we have won with Maymon still in the game? I don't know...without the FOUR FREE THROWS Florida got, and Maymon in the game, we had a great chance IMO. Hate that the game turned on that play, but it is what it is. I think we make the tournament and depending on the matchup, I like our chances of winning the first game based on the way we have played the last 5. Title: Re: Florida made two charges in the second half Post by: midtnvol on March 15, 2014, 09:33:35 EDT I think you can add this game and make it six. We were playing the #1 team in the nation and except for some odd calls and garbage points at the FT line at the end, we gave them all they could stand.

I feel good about our chances in the dance, which I expect to make. Could be disappointed on either count, but unless we draw a really hot team, I expect us to go and at least win one game. |
