Well that's sickening.  I hope they get nailed in the deflate-gate investigation, but seeing as Kraft and Goodell are BFFs, I won't hold my breath. :frown:

Oh... I think that's being generous.  You are S.E.C.O.N.D.S. away from your second consecutive Superbowl against one of the greatest sports franchises in history... one you respect DEEPLY and have played valiantly against all night.  And you take THAT KIND OF RISK AT THAT POINT IN THE GAME when all you need is to get it in the freaking end zone and you have that kind of back?  STUPIDEST CALL IN FOOTBALL HISTORY.  The magnitude of that moment and you go with that kind of risk?  Unbelievable.  I am stunned by the stupidity of that kind of arrogance and risk.

Lynch had just gashed them for about 5 yards the play before that,to get to about the half hard line and then you line up and call that play? You don't deserve to win if you are that stupid...

That was a Tard-Cut Chaney call right there.

You have the best short yardage back in the NFL and 3 downs to get 3 feet and you throw it into traffic. If I owned the team, somebody would get fired before the sun comes up in the morning....Even Pete Carroll.

Did you know?  Lynch had five runs from inside from the one this year and scored on only one? Did you know that the NFL had 109 passes from the one yard line and 69 were completed for TD's. One was intercepted. That was Wilson's last night. That makes the odds look pretty good for that play to work. This was discussed on ESPN by the College live crew today, Kanell I think was the source.

And most of those were to the corners of the end zone....or to the sideline boundaries. Not to the goal line in traffic.

With one of the best RB in the NFL and you can't pickup 3 feet with 3 tries you don't deserve to win the Super Bowl......And they didn't.

While that seems like pretty compelling evidence in favor of the pass, for it to be valid all attempts to run the ball inside the one and not just Lynchs' should be considered. Five is much too small of a sample size. Also other factors play into this such as teams loading up and keying on Lynch would reduce his effectiveness in the short yardage situation. All that said, I think the ideal play would have been the read option with play action to Lynch. I think Wilson could have skipped into the endzone backwards
