Title: Jauan Jennings may not be the best receiver in orange this year... Post by: Creek Walker on August 16, 2015, 05:28:46 EDT …but he may be pretty darned close. He repped with the first team tonight, for whatever that's worth. And looked really, really good.
A few other observations: • A few errant throws by Dobbs, which is concerning, given his inconsistency problems last year. But he looked pretty good overall. • At one point, all three kickers made FG tries at 55 yards, one after the other. Nobody, including Medley, could get it to the crossbar from 60, but still, given where we were at this point a year ago with the kicking game, Medley continues to be a pleasant surprise. • I'm not sure why starting punter is still up in the air. The freshman from Florida, Townsend, clearly has the best leg of the bunch. With that said, we may be in trouble if we need to rely on the punting game to win a defensive battle of field position. Townsend showed signs of being a very good punter, but he's also inconsistent, and his bad kicks are really bad. • My goodness, Kamara can hit the hole in a hurry! If I remember correctly, he wasn't the best practice player last year either. I'm not too concerned.....yet. Title: Re: Jauan Jennings may not be the best receiver in orange this year... Post by: Volznut on August 17, 2015, 02:32:41 EDT Not worried about Dobbs errant throws in practice. He is never going to be Peyton Manning - but he brings a dual threat dynamic we have not had in a while, and he is a good enough passer to keep defenses honest. Plus we all know that he plays best in real games, he is a gamer. I think he will have a great year.
I am really liking the three-headed running back monster that he, Hurd, and Kamara bring in this year. Title: Re: Jauan Jennings may not be the best receiver in orange this year... - Who says Jennings won;t be the best WR? He just might be. He has freakish ability, it looks like Title: Re: Jauan Jennings may not be the best receiver in orange this year... Post by: PirateVOL on August 23, 2015, 10:49:46 EDT Not to mention possible wildcat possibilities
