"Perfect" football weather is about 10-15 degrees cooler than that (especially when you get in the stadium, and 102,000 people are sitting on top of each other). Still, it does sound a hell of a lot better than the stifling heat of this past week. Three or four plays where one guy misses the snap count or audible could be huge.
I'm bringing three guys from work who are football fans, but graduates of non-football crazy schools. They've never been to Neyland. I've tried not to build up the environment, but am hoping it's hopping. He apparently attends all their games, and will be at Neyland on Saturday. Anyway, he said OU has never played in front of 100,000+. Also noted that Barry Switzer was a Vol fan as a younger man and was great friends with Johnny Majors.

Perfect football weather is a crisp October afternoon in the 60s with fresh-squeezed apple cider and brats on the grill…and you find yourself pushing a little closer to the grill for warmth. But for the second weekend of September, Saturday's projected weather will be as good as it gets! Stacking square bales in the loft on a late July day can only begin to compare. |
