Title: We have been waiting for Jones to beat some teams he is not supposed to. By

comparison, McElwain (sp) at UF has already beat two. In five games. I'm off the Jones bandwagon.

That is probably true. Where did his hiring come from? Why him and not someone else? So I take it you are still on his bandwagon? I think he is a great recruiter, if it is him and not an assistant doing the recruiting. If the Vols are going to be successful, he will just have to out-talent everyone. Out-coaching everyone is obviously out of the question. Why do you excuse him from underachieving? Why am I a bad fan for thinking this way? We have been on our way back for too long. I think just the opposite. Bad fans are the ones who make excuses for him. I know next year is our year. He shouldn't win these games he is losing this year. This team should be 5-0. Excuse that.

It's the UT fan way the past 10 years....Except excuses.

If you are a Vol fan, you should already know how and why Jones was hired.   Google it if you don't.

As for "being on his bandwagon", I'm not really a follower type.  I don't look at the coach and say "I'm for him", I look at what's best for the program.  And what's best for the program is to win as many as our remaining games as we can.  Jones just happens to be the coach.

Can he get it done?  I have my doubts.  But they play them one at a time.

I agree. But don't be a douche just because someone has a different opinion. No free passes. If Jones is in over his head, he needs to go. If not, he will win some games as an underdog. His record ain't that good yet.

new to this board, that said man you are an angry man. Prior to CBJ and CDD and CLK we had issues and those issues were such that most coaches did not want to come into this program.  Was it Hammy at the base of the problem?  idk but I know this the program is one I love to follow and yes I attend or watch every game.  I am a fan and I believe I understand the game and what it takes.  another poster said it best-  I don't like or dislike the coaches I like what is best for the university.  My concern is when do we hit rock bottom, are we there and when does the climb back up take traction.
Recruiting has been very solid as of the CBJ era, I just don't understand the lack of depth at OL and the talent that is there just does not seem to be on the same page-several game film breakdowns showed the OL in disarray-couple times it was almost like the UF video where they blocked each other.  I believe the future is bright-the DL and OL have talent-it needs to be developed and we have not seen some of the players that will be regular names on the OL-Richmond comes to mind.  why has Blair not developed?  that is a legit question-he was one of the top juco OL two years ago-he had the tools on paper but why can't that transfer to the practice field and to game day?

I believe for Blair the light hasn't come on, for whatever reason.  It happens.  If that became the norm I would be concerned.

A young guy I know well from Pal (Baron Huber) was the starter at fullback for Alabama on the first Saban national championship team with McElwaine as the OC.  When McElwaine was hired at Florida Baron raved about him and what a great hire he felt like it would turn out to be for Florida.  Looks like Baron may end up being correct.

As for being on the "bandwagon", I am on the UT football bandwagon.  Always has been that way, always will be that way.  Coaches come, and coaches go.  I'm not in to coach worship.
