Title: Some encouraging things I saw today
Post by: Volznut on October 25, 2015, 06:57:15 EDT
- OL run blocking against that very good Bama DL - was good, even the freshmen. We were just as tough as those guys.
- Justin Martin has arrived. He can play - made some big plays
- Kirkland is going to be a really good MLB.
- Josh Malone keeps getting better
- Good to finally see some pressure put on by the DL

Bottom line, we showed up to play. We really had no business leading in that game by 1 with 5 minutes to go, Bama's team had far more talent and depth. That showed up when they needed a play.

I truly think we beat Bama next year

Agree on all points. WRs seem to finally be coming around.  Dobbs also still has a lot of room for improvement, but game to game he keeps getting better. He made some nice throws over the middle yesterday.

Looking forward to beating Bama at home next year for sure! A year older for these guys and another top recruiting class and hopefully not being bitten by that nasty injury bug,UT will finally have the depth and the experience to get it done and finally finish off these kinds of games.. :powert:

I like Dobbs - I think he will be a much better passer if he gets better protection. he tends to not be accurate on the run.

as was shown Saturday.  He made some poor decisions while on the run, but at least he is looking down field.  Last year he would just tuck it and run.

The good news there really isn't a team left on the schedule with a line near as good as Bamer

No but Mizzou's defense is good. The good news is that their offense is hot garbage.

Same with Vandy. The other three have trash defenses. It will be disappointing if we don't run the table.

have the talent to compete with just about anyone, we're still a few players away from having the required talent level at every position along with the required depth. The biggest difference I saw Sat was the OL play...we definitely need more talent and depth there in order to be able to impose our will and protect our QB at crunch time.           :patriot:

Another thing to consider for Bama when we play them next year at home..Their front 7 of mostly seniors and juniors will most likely take a big hit..I don't know all the specs of all of their starters but between graduation and assuming a couple of them leave early for the NFL,I'm thinking they won't be as "loaded" up front as this year..
I know it's Bama and they just seem to reload with the kind of depth they usually have but I'm thinking Dobbs and Hurd will have a big day if they are healthy come game time next year...

We'll beat Bama next year. Bama fans know it, and so does Nick Saban.

I don't think a program that recruits the 1 or 2 class in the nation every year and a coach that's won multiple national championships would know that that'll lose to UT 12 months from now or even have that mindset. And I ga-ron-tee there isn't a Bama fan out there that knows it either.

You're taking my post way too literally. It's meant to be facetious - but you get the general idea.

They would never admit it, but deep down inside they know it even if it's in their collective, classless, trashy subconcious.   :naughty:
