Title: Georgia shizzles the bed Post by: BanditVol on November 01, 2015, 12:46:08 EDT Harris has been pretty awful for the gaytors, they clearly miss Grier
I would love if Grier was still suspended next season when we play, but I am already writing that off as a possibility. Might as well get the disappointment out of the way early. I'll say this, we win that game earlier this year going away with Harris in the game. I know, I know, I know.... but, but, but...Harris beat us the year before. I know, but we have a much better team this year. but, but, but...it doesn't matter who the UF QB is, they will play better against us. Back away slowly and put the meth pipe down. Superstitions are for losers. but, but, but...we find a way to lose to Florida anyway. See no. 2 above x infinity. Coulda woulda shoulda...too late we already lost to them. But I would much, much, much rather face Harris next year, period, dot. Frankly, I don't care. We should beat them soundly, no matter who is under center. Title: Re: Georgia shizzles the bed Post by: Black Diamond Vol on November 01, 2015, 12:56:39 EDT And BTW, if Grier had been out against us, they would've been down to their 3rd string QB (whoever that is), since Harris was suspended. At least in theory. Maybe McElwain would've pulled a herban and held off suspending him for a week.

I definitely agree about beating them regardless of QB, and ...it's about time we do!, but I'd still rather it's Harris. Heck, they probably don't beat us with Grier and he was cheating, so IMO it's just that he sit the full suspension. But I certainly am not counting on it. Following up on your point about winning regardless, most of that karma accrued under Fulmer. He should have won, IMO, 1-2 of the games from 95-97. He definitely should have won most if not all of 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2006, but to give him credit he evened the series with SOS from 98-01 and even got an advantage counting the Zook years. Since Fulmer was let go, we really were pretty overmatched against them no matter how good or bad they were until just the last two years. And as frustrating as those years have been, Butch has demonstrated that we can at least stay on the field with them. I am confident about next year's game. I feel the staff and team have learned from the embarassments against OU and UF and they have to come into our house. I think we likely spank Va Tech and come into that game with tremendous momentum, and finally break the streak. :dude: He didn't last that long against Herban, but once Herban took o Title: Re: Georgia shizzles the bed Post by: Black Diamond Vol on November 01, 2015, 01:30:25 EDT I don't say things like this lightly, but even if UF is facing bammer in the SECC, I'm going to have to hold my nose and pull for the tahd.
It's just not right that they can start a juicer at QB for the first half of their schedule and still be eligible for the championship. I know, bammer's probably juicing too- but at least they had the good sense not to get caught. :frown: Title: Re: Georgia shizzles the bed Post by: BanditVol on November 01, 2015, 01:26:15 EST I don't say things like this lightly, but even if UF is facing bammer in the SECC, I'm going to have to hold my nose and pull for the tahd. Either is preferable to the shizzlety alternate you cite. :hurl: Title: Re: Georgia shizzles the bed Post by: volsboy on November 02, 2015, 05:29:11 EST The Vols still let a freshman QB beat them. Mcillwain is accomplishing more in his first season than Butch has in 3. Can't explain or excuse that away. According to most here and elsewhere Muschamp left the cupboard bare. A lot of fans were dogging them for how lame their recruiting was for this season. I guess coaching does make a difference.

Why is it that every time I read one of your posts I feel like I've stumbled onto VolNation.com? Dude, we get it. Butch has made mistakes. And if he continues to make mistakes, he'll suffer consequences. Until then, what's the point of beating a dead horse? A lot of fans were dogging them for how lame their recruiting was for this season. I guess coaching does make a difference. The cupboard was not bare, it was just down a bit. Muschamp's last couple recruiting classes were lame, but the upperclassmen are stocked, especially on defense. I'm not sold on McIllwain just yet. Look at the success Malzahn had at Auburn, and he is staring a potential losing season in the face. The same people such as yourself that like to throw McIllwain around also mention Hugh Freeze and Harbaugh. Harbaugh struggled to beat Minnesota Saturday, although they are good. Freeze, do we even need to discuss? The only thing Freeze has on Butch is that Freeze has beaten bammer twice in a row. That is a significant accomplishment, but I am confident that Butch can do that next year. Next year we are capable of beating any team on our schedule. I have consistently pointed to this year as a transition year where we win more than we have been, and next year as the year we could be really good. It looks to me like it's on schedule. |
