Warning: much of this is pro Bama related so you may just want to skip to the Bill Battle related segment. The article explains the very beginnings of sports marketing and trademarking of college football's schools names and logos which has brought so much money to all the schools.

Talk about finding a niche in an untapped market.

Yes.  And it's because of the ability of bammer's football program to lure students and build the overall university that the entire state aids and abets the wholescale recruiting cheating that goes on there.   :biggrin:
