Our DL wasn't that good in practice, the OL was that bad
Thomas was abused all freaking night and the right side couldn't block their shadow
Other than two slants and a curl Dobbs didn't throw the ball very well.  The long TD was not thrown well but was thrown well enough.  What made the play was the play fake to Hurd, both safeties bit hard, leaving a FR DB all by himself

We heard about.Byrd all fall camp but I don't believe he ever on the field.  We went with four receivers all night

Oh, and right before the half which FR did we have playing QB?

The DL was owned till the 4th quarter.  I might have missed a rotation but the DEs were 9, 50, 4, 1 (though her mostly played DT in passing situations).  Speaking of DTs only three played.

The DL and LBs were confused all night, poor discipline time and time again on backside plays.  On the 4th and 5 in OT, if they hand the ball off it is at least a 1st down, nobody was home.

Snoop got very aggressive in the end.  For example, on their last drive in regulation, on 2nd and 2 he brought the house.

Warrior only played ST and had a legit block in the back.
BTW, Abernathy was my player of the game.  Tremendous improvement from his first game last year.  He was often the only one staying home and he had a lot of tackles.  Oh, and he broke up their last pass attempted with no drama

When we are trying to go fast on offense, if we substitute then the refs have to stand over the ball and let the opponent sub right?   So many ignorant rednecks on my section tonight that didn't understand that, but I digress...

Why do we destroy the whole purpose of a hurry up offense by subbing ONE GUY, thus allowing the other team to force the ref to stand over the ball until they're good and ready?   

Tonight was an atrocious night for the offensive coaches.

Yes.  In spite of mushberger/palmer being apologists that the "cramps were real", they were OBVIOUSLY BS.   :bird: :bird: :bird: :bird: :bird:

1) "Cramping" was weak.

2) Our NFL OL Butch's first year turned to garbage. Youth was the excuse/reason other years. No more.

3) As noted in the game thread, we should've gone fast early, which means no subs. More plays favored us. Subbing is as dumb as Worley running. Rudimentary tactics elude our staff.

4) If Dobbs isn't running, he's not a usable QB. Corollary to #2, with a bad OL, a fake is a block. If he doesn't keep it some, the defense sells out on the RB.

5) The defense wasn't great, but like OU, wasn't the problem.

Quick hits back.

I will continue to disagree...vocally...with no. 2 with any and all comers.  In 2013, in spite of sucking balls in terms of talent and having almost zero skill players on offense, the OL managed to pave the way to the highest rush yards per game since 2001 and the highest per carry since 1999.  Furthermore, we led the SEC in sacks allowed.  Please back up no. 2 with facts and evidence (hint:  there isn't any).   The OL was made to be the scapegoat for the overall failings of the team.    Another fact...4/5 of them were picked up by NFL teams either in the draft or off waivers.  So the NFL also disagrees with you.

Agree completely with no. 4.  Dobbs needs to run more often.  If he is injured, hey, we gotta break a new guy in anyway.  It's not like Dobbs NFL career is on the line.   :dunno:

Defense might not have been "great" but was very good and better than many claim.  Yes, we managed to give up a slew of 10-12 yard runs on options and jet sweeps (hard to prepare for), but for the last 38 minutes they scored zero.  We also held them to under 300 yards.   The D was very good.
