BUF:  We SUCKED~

Offense:
QB:  F - poor decision making all night and a LOT of bad throws.  Dobbs apparently cannot throw to Smith.  First pick was a failure to read zone (see A&M OT).  2nd pick was a late throw woefully under thown.  Same route structure as a big pass against UGA down the right seem.  If he throws like he did at UGA it is a TD as there was NOBODY behind Smith.  Pooor run reads and seemed indecisive most of the night.

RB:  D - JK brings it up from an F - he had a nice night, needs to beef up his pass pro.

OL:  F freaking minus

Coaching - Not Observed  Insanity is defined as playing the same OL all freaking night that wasn't performing


Defense:
DL  For the most part the DEs played ok.  The DTs not so much.  Blocked way to easily across the front against the run all night  DB9 is the most held lineman in the SEC

DB:  Best position group, though too many run misfits.  Kirtland made a difference.  After a rough start I think the alignments were better

DB:  very bad start.  Buchanan was burned, had a PI and was injured on one play.  Martin came in and had a very rough start but settled down
Mosley played run support and bubble screen support out standing all night.  In passing situations he was not going to get burned deep and thus gave up too many easy catches in front of him.  I believe their last TD was a bust by Warrior.  He is fast but all too often doesn't know the position.

Coaching:  For as injured as we were (I think Tuttle is out for the year) not bad - got burned with the blitz on their last TD but he lives and dies with it.

ST:  In warm ups Medley hit 3 consecutive 55 yarders and all were strong, high (2 were dead straight) and would have cleared the cross bar from 60+ but in the game he hit a wounded duck.


Summary: Unfizzleingacceptable!  We don't have to worry about playing bamer again and probably not on NY Day either.

Bad..bad...bad. Unprepared team that had the East in it's sight and just laid a big fat stinking egg. Something just isn't right with this team....more than meets the eye.

As I heard it perfectly said tonight...When you lose consistently to Muschamp you've got the wrong coach leading your team. I've said the same thing for 2 years now and still believe it....Butch won't take us to where we want to go. But we are stuck with him for 2 more years at least I'm afraid....With recruiting lagging we are in for a long slow decline going forward IMO. As Butch has said before...Our identity is on film.....well Butch's identity is on film for recruits too. Not good.

If Vol fans are happy being a middle of the road SEC team...then you have your man leading your football program.

For those who are stll holding on to hope that UT can make the SECCG, think about this:

UT is one hail Mary or one short missed field goal (Appy St) away from being a .500 team.

Yep, my tix will be going on stubhub by next weekend....was hoping to gift them to kids and grandkids for part of their Christmas this year.....but that's gonna have to wait for another year it seems!

Um...who is hoping that?  It's never happened in the history of the SEC.  No 3-loss team from either division has ever gone.

Now, having said that, if UF loses to both Arkansas and LSU, and we win out (first is against the odds, and...sadly...the second is by no means guaranteed), then we will go.

But what does Appy st have to do with it?  "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MORAL LOSS". 

And who cares if we get our butts beat by bammer again (which is not a lock either, BTW...there is a puncher's chance they lose to both LSU and Auburn)?  I'd rather go, and get beat, than not go.  It will also get us to a better bowl game (or at least it's likely that it will) and help recruiting.

It doesn't matter though...the odds of us going are very slim.

I would definitely still rather go than not though.

Not that anyone wants to hear it at this point, but I still think our odds are very good.  I think UF will lose to both Arky and LSU (and maybe even USC).  I've yet to see any solid evidence that they're any better than an 8-4 type team.  Which means that if we win out (and UK and Vandy are looking like much tougher games today than they did in the preseason), we'd still get to Atlanta.  There's no more margin for error, of course.  And we'll lose again if our play doesn't drastically improve.  But the East title is still a very attainable goal.

Well...not sure how well Arkansas will recover from the ass pounding that Auburn gave them, just like we seem to be hung over from the bammer loss.

But I hope you are right, if for no other reason than watching the Mudlizard melt down.   :naughty:

I went hiking west of Clingman's Dome on the AT, and got home 15 minutes after the game ended. I'm in Charlotte, so it would have been closer to go down to Columbia and see the game, but I have zero faith in this team.

After hearing the outcome, a great day of hiking beat a miserable day of football.

I was just outside today for two+ hours. A simply beautiful day.  Plan to spend more time doing that, and less time reading about sports.  It IS, just a game after all.   :biggrin:

Being outside is less frustrating than watching bad football.
