Title: Vandy only 80th in rush offense Post by: BanditVol on November 21, 2016, 07:30:23 EST Good. Maybe we can hold them to a little under 300 :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
http://stats.ncaa.org/team/736.0/12424 Ralph Webb is coming off a 123 yard 3-TD performance against Ole Miss. Good news..Ole Miss is 112 in rush D. Bad news...we are 115th. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Title: Re: Vandy only 80th in rush offense Post by: Creek Walker on November 21, 2016, 09:42:52 EST http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/tennessee-football/bob-shoop-run-defense-2016/
Title: Re: Vandy only 80th in rush offense Post by: BanditVol on November 21, 2016, 10:11:55 EST Yeah, but....
Derek Barnett, Kahlil McKenzie, Kendal Vickers, Corey Vereen, Shy Tuttle, Kyle Phillips and LaTroy Lewis, among others, make up a strong defensive front. That unit screams depth and talent. The Vols return their best defensive player in Jalen Reeves-Maybin at linebacker, too, along with Darrin Kirkland. :bawl: Title: Re: Vandy only 80th in rush offense Post by: volsboy on November 22, 2016, 05:28:57 EST I don't get how they say the Vols are loaded with talent at every level on defense, yet they get shredded by UK and Mizzou. Seems like a coaching deficiency to me.

Seems like a coaching deficiency to me. Considering we only have two actual DTs with a pulse, and are starting our 11th DB lineup in 12 games, it's not surprising that we are struggling on run D. Having said that, it should not be this bad. And hopefully against Vandy it won't be. |
