I agree, but who is going to make the offer? Currie? If you were offered a job by him, would you take it seriously after yesterdays event? Title: Re: Call Sumlin ... Be ready to make a play for Kevin Steele when the season is over. Get Sumlin’s offense paired with strong defense and you would have something. Title: Re: Call Sumlin ... Post by: volsboy on November 27, 2017, 06:42:57 EST I don't get the love for Sumlin. He just got fired for lack of performance. Plus he has had some really good talent over the years. If it was a business and he was a CEO and got fired for unsatisfactory performance, why would ypou want to hire him at your company. However, if it's him vs Schiano, no contest. Welcome aboard Kevin.

However, if it's him vs Schiano, no contest. Welcome aboard Kevin. He was better than Butch over that stretch and so likely will be an upgrade. He also no doubt learned from the experience. Heck, Muschamp is doing better at USC junior than I expected, Sumlin might do the same at UT. I think he will find it a bit harder to recruit in Knoxville, but by all accounts he's a good recruiter, and obviously has great ties to Texas which cant' hurt. Still not my first choice, but in a rare moment we can agree he's significantly better than Schiano. |
