They could have fired him for cause and litigated whether or not he would receive his buyout. But they didn't want his dirty laundry to be aired publicy. Gregg Marshall knows it just as much as Rick Barnes and John Calipari and even Bobby Knight ... and any high school coach. If you physically accost one of your players, you will not survive as a coach. If you use racial slurs to address your players, you will not survive as a coach.
