However you can make them wish they did. The best way would be to just get rid of all the bowl games other than playoff games. That will never happen due to money. It would suck to go 10-2 and have a New Years Eve bowl game and have all your best players opt out (quit) for your bowl game. Why play the regular season? New Rule: Either opt out for the whole season or play in the bowl game. If you play the whole season and opt out of the bowl game you have to wait until the year after's draft to be drafted. What makes these players think they are more likely to get hurt in the bowl game than game.2,3,4 of the regular season?

It's the free enterprise system. It's tough on college football but college football isn't as important as the right to take care of yourself in your career and finances. Why was it okay for players to play bowl games up until the last 5 years? These current players are worth no more or have more to lose than the players did 5 years ago. Sooner or later they will make rules to address it.

Post by: droner on January 02, 2021, 07:22:25 EST As long as bowl committees and chambers of commerce believe that they can make money from the bowls, they won't go away. And college teams will continue to accept the invitations even though many of them actually lose money from playing in the bowl.
I don't what rule can be enacted to force kids to play in the last game of their career. It's just a situation we will have to live with. Title: Re: What do you think of the opt outs?
