He made the statement that he knew at the beginning of February that Bama was the choice. There is some discussion that Clemson and Bama were both in the recruitment until the last few days, but by most accounts it appears that UT was definitely out of it long ago, yet he continued to “string them along”. Even Austin Price was slightly critical of the process that played out and he is usually very “player friendly” imo.

According to the Chad Simmons interview with him yesterday, he stated that he made his mind up on 2/1 to choose Alabama.
