Title: China's laughable Olympics
Post by: BanditVol on August 16, 2021, 09:59:47 EDT
China made a big deal out of gold medals at the Olympics.  They deliberately targeted the lesser known sports, and announced that it was there intention to win the gold medal lead by doing so.

To maximize its golden harvest, Beijing has focused on less prominent sports that are underfunded in the West or sports that offer multiple Olympic gold medals.  It’s no coincidence that nearly 75 percent of the Olympic golds China has won since 1984 are in just six sports: table tennis, shooting, diving, badminton, gymnastics and weight lifting.

But as it turns out, the USA passed China in gold medals on the final day of the Olympics with the women's volleyball team win.  So what does China do?  Try to claim Hong Kong Macau and Taiwan medals as it's own.

Lol.  They are so desparate to win the gold medal count that they cheat.

It says a lot I think.  In this country we care about the Olympics, but if we don't get first place, life will go on.  It's as if the commie Chinese government is so desperate for legitimacy that it makes a bigger deal out of the Olympics than they should.   Kind of like East Germany back in the day with their roided up swimmers, and the more recent example of drugging by Russia.

What is it about totalitarian states that they try to use the Olympics as a crutch?

But whatever, it's really funny that they targeted things like Badminton and Trampoline as events, we beat them anyway, and then they try to lie about it to their people.   :dielaughing:

Wow, I did know we passed them on the final day with women's volleyball but I didn't know the rest about how they targeted lesser known sports and the rest.  Makes the gold medal count win that much sweeter!
