That QB had just badly overthrown an open WR on 2nd and goal, and probably the clock had run out but Ark got an unlikely break from the Ole Miss clock guy, had a second left, and converted. Then the color guy called the 2 pt conversion play before it happened, Ole Piss was all over it, and Jefferson again badly overthrew it.
Don't put your improving-but-still-developing QB in a situation like that, no matter how tempting it is to go for the win (and how many pundits blindly say it was the right choice). Yep dumb play call. Even the color guy saw it coming. Again, I understand Pittman's thought on why, and give him credit for having the balls to do it, but I don't think I put that kind of pressure on Jefferson. |
