We’d need a lot of help over the next 24 hours to get a 1. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 1 seed with seven losses, even though we might have the best resume of any seven loss team ever.

UK has losses to Duke (#11 in NET), Notre Dame (52), LSU (18), Auburn (12), Arky (20), and UT (8) twice. We have losses to Nova (6), TTU (9), Bama (28), LSU (18), Arky (20), Texas (16), and UK (4). I think Kansas and Auburn are very close to the last #1, but i'd give the edge to Kansas for winning their tourney.
I still think Aubie should be rated the best SEC team, but we are right there with them. AUB and TN should get 2's, pretty clearly. It would be a travesty if UK was seeded above us - we have clearly had a better season than UK. Give Aubie the Greenville #2 and the VOls the Indy #2. That is HOW IT SHOULD BE. Maybe the Wildcats should get one of the other #2's, but I see them on the border of a 2/3. JMO. Title: Re: Why are the Vols not being considered for a 1 seed? Post by: volsboy on March 15, 2022, 08:06:30 EDT I dont think Duke will go a long way in the tournament. Their best three players are freshman. Boeheim said they will struggle when they play teams with 5th year seniors and teams with more experience. He said there are a lot of experienced teams that will fair well against teams that have great freshman. I hope we have enough experience to go with our freshman to get bye that problem.
