Title: TV recommendation Post by: Black Diamond Vol on April 06, 2022, 05:27:34 EDT I've been getting Apple TV on a free trial basis for a while now. Every time you buy a new device, they re-up you for a year. There have been several decent shows I've enjoyed on there-Ted Lasso, Mythic Quest, Mosquito Coast, Defending Jacob. But nothing that would justify me spending my own money for the service- until now.
Take any number of dystopian/scifi works- Matrix, 1984, Lost, Fight Club, etc. Now combine them with Office Space. That's Severance. At times disturbing (the opening credits alone are pretty unsettling) and at times darkly hilarious, they're building a big mystery and raising a lot of questions. Season one ends this Friday, so there's still a long way to go to get all those questions answered, and it remains to be seen if they can land that plane smoothly (something Lost couldn't do). But as for now, I can't look away. |
