Hopefully Hooker can shrug the injury off and not miss any action. It would be nice to blow them out in the second half so he can come out.

A score on the first drive would be tough for LSU to overcome. Their offense is very sporadic. They did come back from 3 scores behind against Auburn though.

Man o, man o, man.

Played very well today. Is there anyone out there that trusts their defense though. Just got to play well enough to hold the other team on a few series and outscore them.

We limited LSU well below their season average on offense. The Tigers were 0 of 3 on fourth down, only scored twice, had 55 rushing yards and averaged 2.0 ypc, and we had 6 sacks.

Clearly our defense isn't great, but just as clearly, it's not like it was a battle of offensive firepowers today. This was a complete team victory.

Some points

Hooker was shaken up, not injured

Our defense is a mixed back. Good to great run D, held a team averaging 193 to just 55 today. Also good at pressuring QB numerous sacks today and vs Pitt, and AR hurried often but just good at avoiding rush.

Pass offense and particularly coverage is obviously the problem, but I saw some signs here and there today of improvement, quite a few deflected passes and occasionally some good coverage.

If we improve significantly in pass coverage this will be a complete team, but if we can even be average at it, look out! 😉

Also, our secondary was much more aggressive and the corners played A lot tighter coverage, especially Hadden
Our safeties are still a VERY weak link and our LBs still, for the most part, don't drop into coverage well
