I posted that on twitter to a Bama fan... That if the refs called the game right it would have doubled their penalty count.

I think if you added those to the 17 they were called for it would be 47 penalties

What is incredible is how much of a difference it makes when the league doesn't have to treat Alabama as its sacred cow. Having Tennessee win this game didn't hurt the SEC. Hence, the official doesn't hesitate to call the defensive pass interference at the end. Alabama wasn't screwed. They simply weren't protected.

With the advent of the 4-team playoff the SEC is now trying to always get two in and not just protect the best option for the two team playoff.  I am sure the conference also has an eye on the expanded playoff.

Ok, here's a point to consider... are the refs capable of seeing all of it? I've always considered the axiom of them being blind as bats as gospel.
