I would ask for my money back. Even Walmart would give you a refund. Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Post by: Tnphil on October 23, 2022, 08:17:05 EDT A&M offense rivals Gitmo and the Poot Gump offense. It's butt ugly.
Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Post by: BanditVol on October 23, 2022, 09:06:23 EDT A&M offense rivals Gitmo and the Poot Gump offense. It's butt ugly. On the SECN last night, Takeo Spikes said "...we can criticize Jimbo for not having motion in his offense, but it comes down to the QB play...". Or something like that. He's hard to understand sometimes. :naughty: But anyway...it it true that Jimbo does not use motion? If so, he is a fizzleing moron and it can help explain why his offense suxes. Wow. Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Post by: murfvol on October 24, 2022, 12:00:32 EDT I'm just hoping they're stuck with him for another couple of years.

But I guess they wasted even more dough than A&M :wow: Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Post by: BanditVol on October 24, 2022, 09:09:07 EDT I'm just hoping they're stuck with him for another couple of years. I don't see any choice for them. Or at least well into next season. The only way he is gone this year is if he drops 4 of the 5 remaining games. IMO. And maybe not even then. I know the donors there have deep pockets, but....$100 million is $100 million, even among wealthy buddies! Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Post by: JeffCountyVolFan on October 24, 2022, 09:26:24 EDT I’ve had a range of thoughts on this situation.
First off, they can obviously choose to keep him and require changes, but how can you really demand change when you are over the barrel? What if he looks at them and says, “I believe in what we are doing and I’m not changing”? What are they going to do, fire him? Maybe they think this is just a terrible year and that it will reverse itself - in which case they stick with him. Are donors going to continue to throw ridiculous money at NIL if they have a coach that they don’t really think can get them to where they want to be? Sticking with him for 3 or 4 more years to reduce the buyout only prolongs the problem, if they think that he will not get the program to the top tier. Sure, the buyout will be less but you’ve wasted those millions anyway on 3 to 4 years of underachieving results. It’s not my money, so it’s easier for me to say that maybe they’ll pony up sooner rather than waiting another 3 to 4 years. I don’t have to contribute financially so maybe I’m just not in touch with how this would work for them. Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Know any good mansions available in the Caribbean?? This cigar I received from a Tennessee fan sure is good! aTm: faceplant :dunno: Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Post by: BanditVol on October 24, 2022, 09:55:03 EDT Part of the reason I say he has another year is that I think the powers that be (a) want to see what that $35 million no. 1 class can do in a second year, and (b) see if they can bring in another no. 1 class. Then if Jimbo is not the answer, pony up and move on.
That's just my $0.02, trying to put myself in the seat of a Tamu fan/booster. In the meantime, Weiggman (sp?) is a five star QB who has only seen the field in an injury situation. Given how atrocious their offense has been, I don't see how he hasn't already made a change. Furthermore, a quick google reveals that most Tamu fans think Fisher's offense is very stale, and that he needs to make a change, but he won't. Insists that "the plays are there, we just need to execute". Reminds me of two things. Butch Jones (greatly misplaced) confidence in his scheme, and the predictablity of the Fulmer scheme in the last ~ 8 years of his time at UT. I don't know how many Tennessee fans told me they could predict the play calls near the end there. Arrogance will get you every time. I just enjoy seeing this at another school for a change. :naughty: Title: Re: What do you get for 100 million dollars?......... Post by: Black Diamond Vol on October 26, 2022, 02:42:46 EDT Jimbo should sign half his salary over to Jameis Winston. His entire reputation as an “elite” coach, and thus his entire ridiculous contract at A&M is based on two seasons with Winston under center. Outside of that, Jimbo’s been mediocre to bad his entire career. One of the most overrated coaches I’ve seen in my life. :frown:

A talking head had a point that is probably true....he claims Sexton leveraged the threat of Jimbo going to LSU. Which makes sense, though it's not a good thing at all. |
