Title: Deion Sanders (I refuse to call him “Coach Prime”)
Post by: Black Diamond Vol on January 06, 2023, 06:36:00 EST
…is going to be a train wreck in Colorado. Oh, I’m sure he’ll get some recruits and win some games…for a little while. But this is a house of cards that will eventually fall in on itself.

Take this video, for instance. It’s one thing to kick a kid off the team. It’s another thing to do it in front of the entire roster. And it’s another thing altogether to do it in front of the entire roster, AND on video which will immediately be plastered all over social media for the entire world to see. Maybe the kid deserved dismissal, idk. But he’s also a young guy who deserves a bit of dignity. I wonder if young Deion Sanders could’ve met the exacting standards of old Deion Sanders. I have my doubts.

This “culture” is not sustainable. Not for long.

As I watched that clip, all I could think of is this:

Frankly, it's disgusting. And I agree. "Coach Prime" cannot sustain himself. I see why a lot of recruits are drawn to him. They see him as one of them. I've often wondered how an arrow-straight white guy like Nick Saban can walk into the living room of a young black kid from the inner city and convince that kid to come play for him. He doesn't talk like that kid. He doesn't look like that kid. He doesn't dress like him, listen to the same music as him. But in Sanders, these kids have someone who dresses like them, talks like them, enjoys the same pop culture they do. So sure they're gonna want to play for him. He'll sign a lot of recruits. But what I don't understand is why the talking heads on TV fawn over him. From basically telling the existing scholarship players at Colorado on day one that there was no place for them on the roster to stunts like this, he has shown no respect for the players. That's not a recipe for longevity.

The culture....He's black and will be protected....Let most coaches do that and there would be callings for firings....demonstrations.... ESPN would be talking about it and scrolling it 24/7. I could say plenty more but I wont.

Saban can show em his rings and show them how many players his program has gotten to the NFL. Tell them sign with us you'll play for championships and I will get you to the league....And before it was made legal....oh and here's a nice check to go with it. So in a way he does talk their language.
