Love this line... "When they’re up on you, Neyland is a nightmare to play in. The stadium is back to the way it used to be.” :dude:  :powert: Title: Re: SEC Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2023 Post by: SmokeyJoe on July 31, 2023, 03:28:55 EDT That is a good read. I may be irrationally exuberant, but I don't think I am. Heupel just seems to have "IT". ALWAYS calm, seems he always feels he is in the game. The only outlier is South Carolina last year & if I recall our d backs were decimated with injury. Even then, Rattler was completing passes barely over outstretched hands. Let's go Big Orange! :dude: Title: Re: SEC Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2023 Post by: SmokeyJoe on July 31, 2023, 03:37:44 EDT Reminds me of Spurrier in his heyday. I'm sure the nuances are there, but I refuse to believe footbaw is that damn complicated. He has already "coached up" two teams. One more & I will be convinced. Defensive talent has improved. Young, but improved talent. :patriot: :powert:

I'm hoping it was a fluke, once in a lifetime performance by him, never to be repeated. :patriot: :powert: Title: Re: SEC Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2023 Post by: SmokeyJoe on July 31, 2023, 09:10:46 EDT Rattler was uncannily accurate in that game. They went on to nip Clemson 31-30, and lost to Notre Dame 45-38 in the Gator Bowl. They were 8-5 with losses to Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, and ND. Definitely a Jekyll & Hyde team. |
