Title: In the last 17 games between the Vols and UF in the Swamp,
Post by: JeffCountyVolFan on September 21, 2023, 12:48:16 EDT
Tennessee has a record of 2 wins and 15 losses. One common denominator in the two wins is that Casey Clausen was the Vol QB. 😳👀😳👀😳👀   [credit for this info to SpaceDobbs from VQ]

The Vols series record against UF is 21/32, but UT won the first 10 games (1916-1953).
Since 1954, Tennessee is 11/32 against the Gators. 😡

And from 1970 fwd ain't much better against bama, if at all. Getting there with georgia, too. It seems our lows are lower, and highs aren't as high. Had a shot at a dynasty after 2001, but here we are.

Casey was a warrior...I'd take a team full of Casey's.

I lived in Florida in the 70's and Florida couldn't play dead in a B western movie several of those years...I still remember the bumper stickers everywhere that read ' Go to Hell Pell'

One of my all time fav Vols.  Pisses me off to no end that his teammates let him down so horribly in that SECCG --- too many damn posers and wannabe thugs.  it boils my blood.  Casey's tenure kinda marks the beginning of the end.  And we are only NOW (hopefully) clawing our way out of the wilderness.

Pretty fizzleing pathetic.  I went to the Swamp for the first time this year fully expecting the Vols to play bad and the Gators to play way over their heads - WHICH HAS HAPPENED PRACTICALLY EVERY fizzleING YEAR THAT I HAVE BEEN WALKING THIS PLANET.  I had so many Gators come up to me before the game expressing doubt about the outcome and I would just say "Where have you been the last 30 YEARS??????

The last time we trounced the Gators was 19 fizzleing 92!  That was the first year of the SECCG.  And of course Majors came back and absolutely shat the bed and fizzleING Florida ends up in the FUCCKING champ game.  UGH.  We have not won handily vs the Gators ever since and have gone 6-25 after that last blowout win.  And hell, one of those 6 wins was a glorified Tie/OT win.  Absolutely fizzleING pathetic.  It doesn't really get any worse - especially when you consider how bad the Gators have been in a lot of those years.  I told Pirate and Bandit after the game I am just done with playing the Gators in September.  fizzleing end that misery now.  If we still play UF in September after the SEC schedule shakeup, I may just opt to cheer for the Princeton Tigers full time.  Enuff of this fizzleing BULLSHIITE.  /RANT OVER  /CURSING OVER

The freaking graphic wont load for some reason.... can't include pics anymore from Google or Amazon photos for some reason...oh well. here it is in old school text:

2 thoughts Coupe and you are correct in your post.

1. Sub Belt Billy currently has the 3rd ranked class in the country..

2. We moved the UGA game back in the schedule and they are still kicking our asses...

Vandy has beaten us more in this century than we have defeated Florida. 😩

But we are 13-3 against UK!!! 👍🏻

Its hard to believe that from Dooley's first year through the end of Poot, we had 7 losing seasons and only 4 winning seasons.  At UT! It's unbelievable.  And that doesn't include that Poot's single winning season technically is wiped out by the sanctions.  So if you count that, only 3 winning seasons in 11 years...an amazing low for our program.   :banghead:
