Title: On offense
Post by: PirateVOL on October 15, 2023, 03:21:46 EDT
The issues are 60/40 on Milton and the receivers
There were at least 3 flat drops tonight
Milton has poor pocket presence and holds the ball too long
He has low confidence in the long ball
Only two receivers I trust: Squirrel and Warren
Thornton played 3 series or so, wasn?t effective

Our penalties put us in holes all day

Any concerns about Milton?s knee were put to bed today
After waltzing OB on the offsides (possibly cost us a score) he lowered his head and got extra yards

Wright is just a horse, best RB we?ve had in awhile
One 4th down failure was on Sampson, Joe bent his ear all the way off the field

Wish we would get our RBs involved in the passing game several times a game. Run some true screens and get the defense on their heels. That might help Milton out too. Gosh he can use it...

We had more penalty yards than passing yards today I read.

Agree on the RB passes. Was wondering why we didn't do that more today.

using them in pass protect most of the time

Once, I think in the 3rd, Wright moved out to the left flat, wide open and Milton never looked left

I think that most of the time Joe had made up his mind where he?s throwing it before the ball is ever snapped.

Joe isn't football smart. Just not.

At times, particularly in pressure situations, he looks to me like he would rather not be out there.  That's not good.

Bingo.  When the defense jumps offsides, the FIRST thought in any football FANs mind is ?FREE PLAY!?  How does the QB  piddle around and run out of bounds?

He also seemingly has poor sense of the flow of a play and letting downfield routes develop.

And on and on?.

Right. He just doesn't have "it".
