ASU scores with 1:19 to go to make it 21-19. They miss the 2 point conversion to tie. They execute what looks like a successful onside kick, but the refs call offsides (it appears to be a bad call). Butch goes ballistic on the refs. After hearing him out for a couple minutes, the refs begin to set up for the re-kick. But Butch isn?t finished. With all three timeouts left, he uses one just so he can yell at the refs some MORE. With 3 timeouts, they could?ve theoretically gotten the ball back with a stop. But Butch had to seal the loss just so he could get another 2 cents in. :dielaughing:

Couldn't have happened to a bigger dumb ass....But the kids got screwed on that call.

I will say that ESPN?s camera coverage for this game wasn?t exactly what it will be for the CFP games. From that crappy overhead shot it looked like a bad call, but it was really close. The ref was standing right there and he threw his flag as soon as the ball was kicked.

It depends on how offside is defined.  The Ark state players clearly moved prior to the kick.  If offsides is defined as crossing the 35, then it was very close. If its just coming out of the stance, it was clearly offisides.

Defense is only offsides if they move past the line, offense can't move at all. I don't know how its defined for a kicking team, but they clearly moved prior to the kick.
