I just read the announced butts in the seats was announced at a tad over 43,000 and it looked it too. They showed some aerial shots and the upper decks looked very empty....I've been there when it was full and once when it was around 2,500 short...Wonder what the issue are? The Outback Bowl with LSU looked even worse.

What was the percentage UT fans to Michigan?

Most of the upper deck were freebees HS kids
We had some in theNorthupper, but not many

Iowa had the West side and, in theory, the 1st section of the west end of the endzone seating.

In truth, other than their dance band (theyt sure as hell aren't a marching band) had the NW corner and there was a lot of ORANGE mixed into their areas

Not just the CFP, but the CFP PLUS the NY6 games means that the quality of matchups has really declined in games like this. Under 90?s bowl arrangements, the Citrus Bowl would?ve featured UGA vs tOSU, with the winner having an outside shot at a NC if things fell right elsewhere. There?s just a lot less on the line now.

Plus folks were a lot more willing to travel before gas and hotel prices shot through the roof.

You left out that our TVs are basically small movie screens now, and the information on screen and frequency of replays much greater.  Heck, we can do our own replays, for that matter.  :powert:
