Made several models as a kid. Title: Re: This was posted again on TOS and it is freaking awesome Post by: PirateVOL on August 29, 2024, 12:15:21 EDT It was my favorite military aircraft of all times. Made several models as a kid. Growing up and through the first seveal years of my AF career it was the P-38Even helped restore one while stationed at England AFB for the Confederate AF 2nd favorite was the B-58 Hustler, wtill think it was the greatest looking aircraft ever flown (B-70 Valkrie would be 2nd on that list) From the sheer amount of flight time it would be the C-130 Flown on the following variants: C-130H1 C-130H2 C-120H2.5 C-130H3 AC-130A (including the First Lady (1st production C-130 53-0129) AC-130H AC-130U MC / AC-130W MC-130E MC-130H MC-130J 64-500, which was a C-130E with half a MC-130H avionics kit and a wierd APU mounted backwars in the A'C (flew that one at 500 feet while TFing) - also at one point had an unsual sensor suite C-130Es that had a very unusual sensor suite installed C-130Es that had a drone sensor system installed I had some fun! Title: Re: This was posted again on TOS and it is freaking awesome Post by: Coupe De VOL on September 04, 2024, 06:05:51 EDT I was on Watts Bar Lake over the recent 4th holiday and went out with my daughter on the waverunner. We were pretty much in the middle of the river between Sand Island and Euchee dock when we heard this deafening roar approaching us from behind. I thought a damn barge going 200 miles an hour was about to rear end us. I turned around, looked up and a dang jet fighter was like 100' above us! 100', no lie. The roar was deafening and scared the living daylights out of us both. After it buzzed us, it climbed and turned to get back beside the the other aircraft is was cruising with. It had twin tail fins, so I guess it was an F-35, but not sure. It was an amazing experience.
