I didn't see it that way.  He was pleasantly surprised at the positive response, and seemed grateful is how I took it

No, its just the truth.  "Vol twitter" absolutely has a rep.  The thing is, I am glad that our fans aggressively attack members of the media. The members of the media mostly deserve it IMO.  Thus I guess the discrepancy in our reaction to what he said.

Rece has done that before (GA Tech I think). Respect to him for doing so.

Also, I love our passionate fan base, but some of our notable Twitter users have to be fairly dim teenagers.

It's not an insult if it's a statement of fact, and nothing to be ashamed of. "Vol twitter" is notorious. I for one, don't think that's a bad thing. Think of it this way, Rece may even be a bit intimidated by Vol social media.

Resorting to name calling is a clear sign that you have lost the "argument". Not that it ever was.  

You are completely unaware that "Vol twitter" has a reputation for launching attacks on media figures, but it has been discussed quite frequently below in numerous posts, with plenty of examples actually posted. I wouldn't stoop to your level and use childish insults, but I would say that you strike me as not in touch with reality, and thin-skinned. Acknowledging that Vol fans routinely attack media figures is no cause for shame, I actually like it that way, although I  tired of hearing "ESPN hates us".  Might as well hang a sign around your neck that says "I have a massive inferiority complex".

But give me a serious answer...does "Vol twitter" have a rep or not?  Yes or no.  

It was an example of calling out the truth as a pot shot.  Yes, TN fans have a lot of Vitriol against ESPN.. rightly so.  But Rece saying it in the comments was a pot shot. 

We see it differently, but that's fine.
