Huepel has shown a tendency to be unprepared for road games. This time, the vibe I got was he shot his wad on OU last week and had nothing left for Arkie, in spite of two weeks to prepare. At the top of the list should have been trying to make sure the team was as motivated as they were in Norman. They were not. It was also a lot of mental errors. The hitting the punter changed the momentum late. In the presser Heupel mentioned "we didn't get off to our usual fast start" (on offense), but we did complete a 15 yard pass on the very first play, which literally made me think "here we go!", but some knucklehead got called for ineligable receiver and suddenly its 1st and 25. Then of the four (yes, only 4!) drives we had in the first half, two others were hurt by holding penalties. 3/4 drives suffered from penalties. That's 100 percent on coaching to allow that to continue to happen. When you are allowed to be undisciplined you jump offsides...you run into the kicker/punter....you don't field punts that gives the opposing team 25 more yards...It's seems this doesn't faze Heupel in the least

He looked more poised than Nico from the get-go. To be fair, I put that more on the OL and RBs than him. He made one simple pass to start the drive, but even then, I credit the OC more than him. The rest was the OL and run game. He did score the TD, but we let him. Very sad that we had to. :mad: |
