Title: UF scoring D 74th, Arkansas is 34th Post by: BanditVol on October 10, 2024, 05:56:06 EDT Arkansas allows 19 points a game (except against us!), and UF 24.4
UF is a significantly worse team than Arkansas, and we play them at home. In spite of the ugly loss at Arkansas, I am pretty confident we win this weekend. Title: Re: UF scoring D 74th, Arkansas is 34th Post by: VinnieVOL on October 10, 2024, 02:42:24 EDT UF is also a lot worse at stopping the run, or so I've heard. (I don't have the stat in front of me)
But I agree. We should win this game. Title: Re: UF scoring D 74th, Arkansas is 34th Post by: BanditVol on October 10, 2024, 05:16:13 EDT Arkansas is 29th, allowing 107 ypg, Florida is 101st, allowing 173 ypg
Also, we had 174 yards on Arkansas, way more than they have been allowing. Run game was not the issue against them. :wow: WWFDT :naughty: :powert: Title: Re: UF scoring D 74th, Arkansas is 34th Post by: Coupe De VOL on October 10, 2024, 05:17:19 EDT I have not been able to watch the game, but I did see the final 2 minutes in a bar. It just seems like we had a bad game. This has happened to Heupel's teams at least once every year.
'23 - @UF & @Mizzou - both games we just didn't show up. '22 - @ThoseDirtyCocks - ugly, ugly game. So ugly it was the source of conspiracy theories. '21 - @UF - another stupid, unnecessary loss to the Gators, who lost 4 outta their next 5 after that win. Under Heupel we are wickedly inconsistent on the road. It's a little bit of a trend. He rarely disappoints at Neyland. I love coach and am not complaining, but there is something there that maybe could be improved upon. You are 100% correct that Heupel struggles on the road, but at the same time, we barely lost to Arkanasas, whereas in all those other games you mention we were dominated, particularly vs Mizzou last year (36-7!) and Junior in 2022 (63-38!), and though closer, we made last year's UF game look closer than it was in the second half (31-19???). Can't recall the UF score from 2021, but that was Heupels' first year so not as concerned about it. Bottom line...ugly loss to Arkansas, but one that won't look terrible on the resume should we finish 10-2. Florida has more talent than Ark by quite a bit. Sunbelt Billy has Florida playing some pretty good football. If the game was in Gainesville I'd bet my 2 mules on UF.
