I did three deployments with 1/101st, so yeah, this years Army unis hit home. I had been with the 101st a total of 15 years, and ben in the back 40 of Fort Campbell to say that I've set in a patrol base in the thicket of woods on the left side of the shot at the 0:37 mark of the video, which happens to be the south end of Suchon DZ <3

I'm going to order a Jersey, I have to, I'm compelled at this point

NUTS!

My wife and I have planned a vacation to Bastogne in 2026. I want to see the remnants of the fighting positions in Bois Jacques woods (506th, I know) and Foy.

Also, this coming October, I'll run Currahee one last time. 10EC, want to come up?  :naughty:

Make a run at Normandy, though I suspect you already have. I went there in 2015, it was amazing.

We should speak.  There are a TON of monuments to look at.  You still can see remanents of fox holes.  There is a huge monument you climb up that lays out the entire area a mile or two away.  I was speechless.

If you are going there, you should go to Lux to the American cemetery and see Pattons grave. A couple of Easy guys buried there.  Skip Muck is one that comes to mind.  I also drove to Malmedy.  There is an EXCELLENT museum there right across from the field with a ton of period pieces.

Once I get my new hip (Hopefully in April) I want to train to hike Currahee.  Unfortunately, I don't think I will ever be able to run it.

Yeah, we need to get together. My wife and I want to do a river cruise from Paris to Normandy, then head over to Belgium. I'm kinda torn because I don't want to visit Normandy on a timeline so tight that it restricts where we can go (I really want to stay a few day in Carentan), but getting an intel dump on Bastogne would be money

I know what you mean about the time.  I had 60 mins at the American cemetery.  Just not enough time.
