You hear (or read) a lot about them being undefeated against quad 2 teams. The teams they defeated that were quad 2 combined for a record of 7-56 against quad 1 teams. You should have to beat more than one "somebody" in a season to be eligible for March Madness, imo. I'm sure that Bubba had nothing to do with UNC making it, though. When Virginia lost in the first round as a #1 seed, I congratulated a graduate of said institution on their recovery the following year (won the NCAA). She decided to take offense that I had even mentioned the (embarassing) 1st round departure, and tried to claim it was due to the expansion of the tourney from 64 to 68. Which made no sense.
