Title: Are we getting Gainey back for a 5th year? Post by: Black Diamond Vol on May 12, 2025, 09:10:09 EDT Gainey seems to think so, and I'm beginning to think the staff does too, as they just backed off Duke Miles. Needless to say, it would be huge for this team.

They are betting on the come that the ncaa will allow a 5th year this summer (July is the current betting line) I tend to doubt it because the ncaa is totally REACTIVE, not proactive about anything except to initiate punnishments that get overturned in courts Title: Re: Are we getting Gainey back for a 5th year? Maybe the missing link is the guy who has been here all along. Also, if the 5th year were to pass, what if ZZ wants to return? He isn't getting any NBA interest. You can't turn the best PG in program history away, but you don't bring in a guy like Gillespie (and likely the $$$ we're paying him) to come off the bench, either. That would be quite a dilemma. :dunno: Title: Re: Are we getting Gainey back for a 5th year?
