Then he turned down Texas and A&M. I guess it's hard to turn down a MLB job. But he accomplished the mission. "Leave it better than you found it"? Yeah, just a tad better, I'd say. I wish him well. But if he pulls a Saban and comes back to coach one of our rivals in a couple years, he's dead to me. :frown:

That's where it headed. Makes no sense him going with zero MLB experience....even minor league. I don't see his coaching style in the MLB....or GameDay Xs and Os. He's made for recruiting and college ball.

He grew up in baseball central: St. Louis. Even though he's not a Cardinals fan, the way professional baseball dominates sports coverage in the Midwest probably affects how he sees the world. He has a chance to work for his friend in professional baseball. Good for him chasing that dream. |
